The Ocular Pavilion

Details: The pavilion has two main functions. One is to serve as a public bus stop for the traffic on North Main street and the other purpose is to provide shades and seatings for the shore green walkway. The simplicity of the structure creates an intrigite yet non-dominant presence on the side. One big roof provides shelter both within and outside of the structure. The joinery of the structure is a interlinked system with each other at the same time stands as the support of the glass bricks. The glass bricks are casted with grooves on the back of it that helps with the installation onto the structure. For the surface treatments, the front side of the glass bricks are casted with sand with rocks that are found on the site imprinted on it. This texture gives a subtle reflection of the light, giving a blurred vision through that provides a sense of comfort inside the structure but also acts as a lens for seeing through it on the street.
